Carer Mentor: Personal Experience & Portal to Experts.
Self Development, Empathy and Inspiration.
Dear Reader,
If you’re new to Carer Mentor, ‘Hi!’ I’m Victoria. I’m a Caregiver, Mentor, and Advocate. I share my skills, experience, and Hub of resources in a mission to support current and future Caregivers. See sections Resonance and The CAPE (Care, be Aware, Prepare and Engage).
This ‘Mentoring Section’ is a Portal to Experts, Enablers & Concepts.
It’s more than just knowledge, facts, and expert insights. It’s also about sharing my experience, what’s helped me, and what I’ve discovered. Wisdom that I hope can empower and inspire you in your journey of self-development, especially if you’re a carer.
A new series of articles delve into a specific topic every few months, providing valuable insights and practical tips.
The March 2024 Series:
Dr Susan David's work on emotional agility has inspired me. The articles I published in March intertwine emotional agility with the work of other experts: Dr Brené Brown, Professor Carol Dweck, Dr Lucy Hone, and James Rhee. I'll be adding the work of others soon.
'Emotional agility is a process that allows you to be in the moment, changing or maintaining your behaviours so that you can live in ways that align with your intentions and values. The process isn’t about ignoring difficult emotions and thoughts. It’s about holding those emotions and thoughts loosely, facing them courageously and compassionately, and then moving past them to make big things happen in your life.’- Dr Susan David: Emotional Agility: Get Unstuck, Embrace Change and Thrive in Work and Life:
