(An abstract image of sound-light connection)
Every Caregiver’s story counts. A moment of resonance is made when there’s a connection between Caregivers, from author to reader. Painful or uplifting, it is a heartfelt welcome home.
The thread of connection is strung and plucked, and a hopeful, vulnerable sound is pitched to see if anyone will hear.
A resonant note can land anywhere in that ‘Space of not knowing’. It’s seen as a spark of light, in the darkness. An echo of an idea or emotion that was felt. A new sound, calling to a new contact. Regarded with curiosity and heard with interest. Welcomed with a soft landing, cupped in gentle wonder. The note has been received.
In its warm glow, this vulnerable sound is absorbed, resonating with the echo of my own experience. Empathy builds, based on the chord that’s struck. The intervals between each note will dictate the harmony or discord. As the ripples of the sound hum, there are moments of nervousness, a vulnerability is exposed, and tension is being released.
Creating and sharing the notes, exposing the vulnerability of the chords, and hoping for an empathetic ear, who will listen? Who will be open to new sounds and resonate with a soulful echo of remembrance? Or will they be curious, fresh to discover more?
The first sounds and chords settle, as notes are swapped. Consonance. Once? Twice? Is it just a one-chord opener or the start of a harmony? The tone is set, and resonance is felt. The light is growing and the melody is emerging.
We watch for the harmonies and dissonance. We hope the sound lands as intended. Above all, we want our notes to be seen and heard. Threads of connection tie our experiences with those of others. Weaving a melody that resonates beyond one author and one reader. A tapestry of song. An anthem for caregivers. A lighthouse of experience to warn others of the challenges ahead. A chorus for change.
Everyone has a unique rollercoaster journey. Empathetic connections help. You’re not alone.

I loved this line “Welcomed with a soft landing, cupped in gentle wonder.”
Such a magical, musical piece ✨
Such a beautiful and poetic musical metaphor in this piece!
It makes me curious: Do you play any musical instrument and what type of music do you enjoy listening to?
