I recommend the TV series NAME: 'This is US', currently on Amazon Prime video.

This is one of many series I couldn't watch when it first aired, so I've been binge-watching episodes. I love the humanity and exploration of relationships across different generations.

I'm recommending this article celebrating the positive development in the inclusion of Asian languages in film & TV:

NAME: How flexible working is transforming careers for the over-50s

'This week, I’m discussing why flexible working is essential to help older employees stay in the workforce and thrive in their careers. Earlier this year, the Flexible After Fifty report revealed that nearly three quarters of over-50s are seeking flexible work to achieve a better work-life balance, with a third saying that caregiving responsibilities and a desire for more personal time are key drivers for this. I'm glad I'm not being "too demanding" or weird for wanting to have flexible work. I started to have that desire many years before I turned 50 because I had special dietary needs and wanted to be able to cook all the meals at home. Working at an office would mean I'd have to buy lunch that wouldn't fit my bills in my body's healing process. I thought no one would understand that need. "Luckily," with the pandemic, working from home became normalized so I could justify my search for work that I could operate from home. WFH has made it so much easier for me to care for myself and my family with less unnecessary stress from commuting and all the other things related to working at an office.

That's great to hear Louisa! Some clients have been 'told' to be in office 'at least'...disheartening for some.. In addition to circumstances like your own, some of my friends and clients work differently. One size doesn't fit all and old-school 9-5 in a building doesn't suit everyone. Some thrive with people and need that, others achieve more at home. Defining the Way of Working that is best for ourselves is a journey in itself. I'm happy to hear you found what works for you. Work-habits and systems need to catch up. It's why the innovative approach of Flexa feels right for these times.
