I forgot to add that I'm a caregiver for my wife of 56 years. She has dementia and is living at home. I'm also a kind of caregiver for veterans. I'm a retired pastor, a combat Vietnam veteran, and the founder of the Interfaith Veterans' Workgroup, whose mission is to prevent veteran suicide in Delaware. Some of the skills I learned in that role, such as deep breathing meditation and t'ai chi, are proving very valuable in my present "assignment."
Thanks for sharing, Thomas. I read some of that in your bio. I appreciate your comments and connecting here, as I'm sure you've much to share that could help others.
I was blessed to have discovered mindfulness as a practice and more formal practice exactly when I most needed it in 2015, at the 'Prelude to my Caregiving'. I'm also grateful for my curious brain seeking out more experts' resources! e.g. Kristin Neff and Thich Nhat Hanh
I'm a caregiver and a Francophile. This list is a bonanza! I've shared the link among caregivers in Delaware. Thank you!
You're very welcome, Thomas! A bonanza - I love that!
I'm a big francophile ever since I spent my 3rd year of Uni (1993-4) in the South of France, and I went on to do half my MBA in France.
I hope the ComfortZone offers you a rich source of ideas and inspiration moving forward. best wishes
I spent a summer in Alsace in '65, and had numerous opportunities to use French after that. I wrote at Substack about my "French Connection": https://tcd123usa.substack.com/p/my-french-connection?r=ply16
