I'll only add here that there's excellent odds Megan's work saved my life this past year - and she's not done yet.

Thanks for sharing, John. She has a very forgiving approach to talking about grief. I say forgiving because a lot of the time, we are second-guessing or beating ourselves up for behaving a certain way. I appreciate her work.

I truly appreciate this article. Your insights based on your deep experiences in grief and bereavement, the anthology you created, and Megan Devine's video are absolute gems for those of us dealing with loss and grief, as well as people who are trying to support their grieving friends and family. I like your and Megan's candor in calling out those expressions and platitudes that hurt rather than help a greiving person. Thank you for putting this together amid all the million caregiving tasks you're handling and your own recovering from the recent COVID/pneumonia.

THIS is how I can do all this—fuelled by love, friendship, empathy and the support of yourself and others in this community we're building altogether.
