Thank you for this post. Dementia runs deep in my bloodline—three generations of men in my family have faded from view: my great-grandfather, my grandfather, and my father. But I refuse to go quietly into that dark night.

Three generations lost to silence.

So I picked up a pen—and started swinging.

They forgot.

I won’t.

I can’t prove it with science, but I believe it with everything in me: writing is my sword. It’s been both rebellion and release—especially as I write my memoir about growing up wild and full-speed stupid in a town that no longer exists.

Thank you for keeping this conversation alive. Every voice matters.

Thank you for taking the time to comment, Eric. I hear you.

It's heartbreaking to hear how hard Dementia's impacted your family.

I know writing helps, journalling kept me sane while caregiving in the darkest times.

We shall continue to advocate, raise awareness. Thank you.

Great info here…I hadn’t heard of the Brain Charity. Thanks for this perfect timing….I’m giving a presentation on helping people in the beginning stages of Dementa to business leaders today…part of our town’s efforts as a Dementia Friendly Community! ☺️💕This is a great resource to have!

Hi Joan! Oh, I'm so glad you can pass this on to others. The videos are great, and the explanations behind the choice of movements/exercises are really useful and educational. My understanding is that there are physiotherapists, speech therapists and occupational therapists involved in making these videos. The Brain Charity's work is inspiring.

Let me know how your presentation goes. Warm wishes.
