This resonates with me on another level as my mother passed from lung cancer. I definitely will support and spread awareness on my page. Thanks for bringing this day to light.

You're welcome Alexis. I understand, my mother and several people I love have/had cancer. xo

Oh I had no idea there was a day for this. I'm going to share this info with the cancer center in the hospital where I work.

Thanks, Christine! This is exactly why I wanted to share this info FYI "World Cancer Day was born on 4 February 2000 at the World Summit Against Cancer for the New Millennium in Paris."

There are awareness days for specific cancer types over the year, but this year Feb 4th launches a 3 year campaign, and this year its about sharing personal stories, lived experiences.

Thank you for making me aware of this, Victoria! I'm looking forward to diving into their material.

I 💯 % absolutely will - on Substack and social media. Thank you so much for this info! 🙏🏽🚀🩷

You're very welcome, Mel! There's a TON of materials, so my advice is to go slow and explore. There's even a place where you can upload your own story for the campaign. Keep me posted on what you do, as I'd like to use Carer Mentor to connect, network and promote everyone's work to create synergies and raise the volume ;-)

Great plan Victoria. I am planning to collaborate with my partner Sarah to write about being a carer. So tempting to call it Sarah the Carer. But she is so much more than that! 🩷🩷🩷

That's a great idea Mel & Sarah! I was relieved and happy to see that the campaign encompasses everyone, not just the person with the cancer. 'People-centred, not just the disease' refers to the holistic, whole-person view AND everyone around them—from how I interpret it.

Agree totally. The ripples are endless. X
