Thank god you were difficult as they said, I'm amazed that people are surprised when you're advocating for a loved one. But it is hard to deal with when it comes from your loved one, when everything you do is with the best intentions. The pressure you were under at that time was incredible, with your father and your son, the strength you showed is something that comes from necessity maybe but it reflects who you are as a person - many people don't stand up, don't be difficult, don't prepare all those bottles instead they hope someone else will. Thank you for sharing your story, being difficult should be a badge of honour for any caregiver, sending you much love 💜

Thanks Khadra for these kind words - I really appreciate them. You do find out some surprising things about yourself and about other people (surprising and sometimes shocking) under very difficult circumstances when trying to care for people you love.

There is something deeply human about realizing that difficult moments do not automatically mean difficult people.

People who are selfless, and caring, should give themselves some slack. But we tend to be hard on ourselves too. You’ve done amazingly, incredibly well Lucy. Thank you for sharing your story. 🌹
